Been spending my time not working by doing some constructive paddling. Interval training on the river for racing, my first of which starts on Memorial Day weekend. Been doing some canoe fishing, caught some cats which were nothing to brag about.

Anyone else?

Once you post your photos on flickr you should be able to include a link to them here by clicking on the little icon that looks like a tree in the posting dialog box. Snag the photos URL from the flickr "all sizes" page and then paste the address in the box that opens when you click on the tiny green tree icon in the post dialog box. It's a bit clunky but it does work most of the time.

Haven't been out over the past two weeks but in 10 days I am leaving for 49 days of ocean paddling, river paddling, and hiking. Life is good.

Yes - I've been out. Most days with the exception of a few for the past two weeks. It's been great! This morning went canoeing off Quadra island around the Bretons and through some channels. Got some good photos of Bald Eagles, Surf Scoters and a gaggle (not sure if it's a gaggle for these but...) of Harlequins.

I'll have to post some photos on Flickr as we can't upload here from what I see.

I know James and a few other members of the clan are out paddling today. James also spent a few days on the Buffalo River about a week ago but the water was pretty low in spite of all the rain we have had farther north.

I was traveling for a good part of April so I had no time spent on the water, just flying above it in an airplane.

Seems to be pretty quiet in here. Maybe you all are out on the water.

Too darn cold and windy here the last few days. 40 degrees and 30 mph winds make the river tripping too unfun to go.

Added more padding and tie down loops on the Kruger this weekend. 'Glassed in a new seat in my QCC 700x kayak and padded that also. Soon as it gets warm again I am headed out to try a overnight 40 miler. Should be fun.

How is the battery life? Probably too soon to tell without a few full cycles.

I'm guessing you are going to install power outlets under the seats and a waterproof wifi hotspot in the bow to connect everyone in the fleet.

It's here... I got a waterproof case as well. I'll still stow it in the pelican when not in use but this looks like it makes it splash proof. It's heavy enough that it will sink if dropped overboard... more to come

I like gadgets and I have almost tried all including slate/netbooks/kindle. And now I am looking forward to iPAd and I am going to have it in couple of days. Though there are very negative comments iPad got but I always believe to have personal experience before believe on rumours. Because everyone have their own opinion for the same thing.

That KTM is awesome and if you happen to be painting the living room, it's great for shaking your paint cans.

Yeah it does shake a lot...once you get it on a gravel road you can't really tell though.

I am not against electronics during an outing but it has to help the experience. The thought of my daughter taking her iPod with her when we go to BWCA this summer bothers me. I want her to listen to the world not some song she down loaded before we left home. I am a big believer of "there's a time and a place".

When I was a Boy Scout leader we banned all electronics on outings. Didn't want any problems of things getting lost or destroyed. Also the boys spend enough of their life in front of electronics. If we have an adult that shows up and cannot put the phone away we kindly suggest to him/her places they could go to conduct business.

My wife is getting an iPad next month and to think of her with her iPad and my three children with their iPods and lap tops will defeat the purpose of our trip. I will leave them back at the lodge and go on a solo trip.
