			<title>Waterproof Camera suggestions...</title>

			<description>&#60;p&#62;I'm looking at purchasing a new camera as mine is several years old and out dated.&#38;nbsp; I'm leaning towards a waterproof camera so I don't have to worry about it when I'm on my canoe.&#38;nbsp; I think it would be great to simply have the camera wrapped around my wrist and be able to access it quickly as opposed to my current set up of getting it out of a waterproof case and then putting it back afterwards.&#38;nbsp; I can't find any reviews from &#34;real&#34; people about waterproof cameras.&#38;nbsp; Anyone have suggestions on a waterproof camera that you're currently using while on the water?&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;&#38;nbsp;&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Thanks,&#60;/p&#62;

			<description>&#60;p&#62;Hey ya'll,&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Just thought I'd ask what you use to protect your camera while in the boat and on the water?&#38;nbsp; Also, what camera/s and lenses do you use?&#38;nbsp; Waterproof?&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;For both my sea kayak (Baja!) and my canoe I've found that Pelican cases work great since neither of my DSLR or video cameras are waterproof.&#38;nbsp; I have&#38;nbsp; Nikon D70 with a 60mm macro and a D300 with an 18-200mm and my video camera is a Sony TRV900.&#38;nbsp; I once had a Pelican case leak after I was dumped from my sea kayak on a steep beach with large breaking waves (Baja).&#38;nbsp; The case was submerged for a couple minutes while I gathered myself, but luckily no damage done.&#38;nbsp; For my recent canoe trip on the Green River in Utah I simply placed the Pelican case with my cameras ready at my feet - served also as a resting place for my coffee and a lunch table...&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;The downside to having cameras that are not waterproof is that you cannot record running that monster rapid or other hairy and wet conditions that would make for a great campfire story...&#60;/p&#62;

			<title>Waterproof Cases? Any Thoughts</title>

			<description>&#60;p&#62;In preparation for our next big thing (whatever that is) I have been thinking about protecting my precious camera gear on the river. James has a Pelican case for his camera that seems to do the job but I have noticed there are lots of other manufacturers who have jumped into the hard case business lately. I wondered if anyone has any experience with some of the other brands. I found an interesting video about the HPRC cases here -

&#60;p&#62;It's sort of funny, so have a look.

			<title>Cameras...  Olympus Stylus-550WP &#34;Water&#34;</title>

&#60;p&#62;It's compact, rated at 10 megapixles, has a 2.5&#34; lcd monitor, can do video with sound, takes a xD card (not included)&#38;nbsp;or micro sd card&#38;nbsp;using an adapter (also not included)&#38;nbsp;and the two things that makes this a great paddling camera... it's waterproof to 10ft and it's only&#38;nbsp;about $170.00.&#38;nbsp;So you don't have to worry about it getting wet and if you do happen to drop it over the side without the floaty wristband attached, you're&#38;nbsp;not watching a $500 camera spiraling down to join Davy in his locker. &#38;nbsp;&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Image quality isn't the greatest, but it's not horrible either. What do you want for less than $200? Did&#38;nbsp;I mention it was waterproof?&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;&#38;nbsp;&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;This photo was taken at&#38;nbsp;high resolution (3648x2736) then resized to 800x600 and compressed to &#34;.jpg medium&#34;&#38;nbsp;using Adobe Photoshop v5.5's &#34;save for web&#34; feature.&#60;/p&#62;
