To post images in the forum you need to have them hosted somewhere. Flickr, Picasa, SmugMug, Facebook and others all allow you to upload and share images. So upload them to one of those sites. We've found that twitpic changes the image url and doesn't work. The ones I have listed are all good though.
The following example shows how you'd do it with Flickr. You can do it with any site. If you have images posted in your blog, that will work. If you have you're own website, that will work. If you want to show someone a NRS life jacket you can do the same thing with an image from the NRS site. (Lets not go crazy with this though.)
First right click on your image and click the 'Copy Image Address' option. In Firefox it says 'Copy Image Location' look for something to that effect. This will copy the image address so you can paste it somewhere. We'll get to that in the next step.
You can also use the 'Open Image in New Tab or Window' option and copy the url directly fro the address bar.

On the AdventureCanoe site there is a little tree above the post box. When you click on that it opens a tiny window that looks like this.

You want to past your image url in that top box. On an Apple hit 'Command+v' or on a Windows machine 'Control+v' you can also right click on the box and select paste.
Once you have the image url in there it will automatically figure out the size for you. I'd recommend using images that are less than 800 pixels wide. Just click insert and it's in your post like so.
Then type away and insert the next image.
Try it out below...
I borrowed the photo Pounding Some Brains from my fathers Flickr photo set of the new Citygarden in St. Louis. Lets keep in mind that most photos are automatically copywrited and not post other peoples work here. I'm sure my dad would give permission to use his image as long as I link to his site InsideTheViewfinder.com
