Locking down near Fulton, IL

Locking down near Fulton, IA.  I love this pic because it shows how tiny a canoe is compared to a tow, even one as small as a 2 barge tow.  Later we’d encounter tows consisting of up to 42 barges with two or three towboats each with up to 10,225 hp.

Thanks! I finally got around to finishing updating through New Orleans.  I will probably continue to work on improvements to the blog overtime.  If anyone has feedback feel free to send me a message or email.
