Mostly recreational on flat water with a few rivers (probably no WW though) thrown in. We are looking at a BWCA trip in a couple years but we'll rent Kevlar for that. Our Disco is a decent boat (Built like a tank with weight to match) and a step up from our Grumman, but I don't like the oilcanning and the weight. It'll be a while before we upgrade again though unless a heck of a deal falls into my lap.

Off topic... Did I miss the announcement for who won the paddle drawing? Congrats to the winner, sweet paddle. We are still using the aluminum/plastic 10lb livery paddles.

The winner of the paddle was MotoMike.
Keep your Disco. It will provide many more years of faithful service. I didn’t mean to bad mouth them...there are few better contenders that recently came on the market. The oil canning is only annoying when you look at it or are going full out on flat water.
Enjoy your boat!
We buy our gear at Amazon, NRS, Altrec or Rock Creek. If you're in St. Louis visit the Alpine Shop.

Oh, we aren't getting rid of it anytime soon! It's much better than our Grumman and suits us pretty well right now. There are much boats out there, but you are less likely to find them used for $300!
And congrats to Moto Mike!

I got to paddle the new Nova Craft with James yesterday. We went out for a few hours in the afternoon and made it to the take out at sunset. The river was sparsely populated but the people we ran across at each end of our mini-trip admired the Prospector a lot but in truth it's hard not to because it is such a nice boat.
