Juniper Lake, located within Lassen National Park in Northern California, is a beautiful pristine lake with crystal clear water. I posted about it over on the blog at NorCalCanoeing here: http://www.norcalcanoeing.com/?p=88

How cold is that water? Do you ever go snorkelling in any of those lakes? I take my snorkel, mask, and fins anytime we go near water, and I always find all kinds of “treasures”. |

It was chilly, but not so much that you couldn’t take a quick dip to wash the camp dust off. The kids of course stayed in for quite awhile.
I didn’t bring any snorkling gear, but my daughter had a similar thought with her swimming goggles.

I spent many hours on Juniper Lake in the 1990′s. We were just up at Manzanita Lake a few weeks ago. Smaller Lake, but watching the sunset reflect off of Mt. Lassen is something I’ll never tire of. I also appreciate your shots. There are no bad pictures in Lassen park. The ones of your new Navarro canoe almost brought tears to my eyes….reminded me of when mine was new. I am determined to bring her back.

Cool beans. It’s been about fifteen years since I went to Lassen. Thanks for posting the photos. |
