Always January (Randy)

Greetings all.  I hope the winter is starting to clear up for those in the Northern States.  February is actually prime time to explore some of the southern most rivers of the Western States.  I wanted to share my adventure with six buddies of mine down 43 miles of the Lower Colorado River.  We had a hoot and a half!

Randy,

all I can say is WOW! The scenery is absolutely amazing and your ability to capture it on camera is equally amazing. I am quite impressed with your photography skills. The twilight photos with the stars looking so bright and brilliant, are my favorite. After reading about your trip, I am so ready to get out on the water. I have a trip planned for the end of March with some friends on the Eleven Point River located in Southern Missouri near where I grew up. It just can’t get here quick enough. I suppose if it got here any quicker though I wouldn’t have enough time to get all my flies tied. Three days of floating and fly fishing, cant wait. I’m glad my wife is supportive of my camping/fishing/hunting/canoeing trips, I love that woman! Anyway, I greatly enjoyed reading about your journeys and the photos were awesome.

Take care and God bless.

Thanks for the kind words David!

I know that feeling of anticipation leading up to a good trip.  Sometimes I think the only thing that keeps me going is dreaming about “the next one”.  Heck, I’m already thinking about the trips I have planned this summer.

I didn’t do any fishing on this trip, but a couple of my buddies did some fly fishing and nailed a couple of small mouth bass on poppers.  Next time I’m definitely bringing my rod.

That is great that your wife is so supportive.  I’d call my wife grudgingly supportive.  Mainly she wants to be out there with me and doesn’t like being left behind with the kids.  I have a great family trip planned this summer which includes a couple of nights wilderness canoe camping to remedy that :-)
