The classic Mad River Explorer excels in versatility with a modular gunwale system and resilient hull, making it the ultimate all-purpose canoe.

  • Royalex® is moderate in weight, creating a boat that’s easy to handle on or off the water and virtually maintenance free
  • Royalex hull flexes slightly when the canoe is in the water, providing stability and the ability to ease over rocks
  • Symmetrical, shallow-V hull offers excellent tracking on flat water and stability on moving water and waves
  • High-volume hull with gently rockered ends provides secondary stability and maneuverability in fast currents and choppy lakes
  • A solid choice for moving water and quiet water on family day cruises—also nimble and easy to handle for a solo paddler
  • Features ash-framed cane seats with truss for added rigidity, and sculpted ash portage yoke for a comfortable carrying alternative
  • IQ2 modular gunwale system allows easy customization of accessories (sold separately) that can be added for various paddling conditions
  • Molded-in graphics can’t peel or scratch off like decals can

Plus, they are pretty.  Nice clean lines with elegant shape.  My Dagger looks like a barge compared to my Explorer.
