Merry Chirstmas or Christmas Eve, depending on your location. I suppose most people have better things to do than to fart around online tonight.
Thanks for the drybag James. It's so much more professional than my normal garbage sack solution.
If the weather outside is still frightfull on my day off next week, I'm going to camp out at someone's house and watch a bunch of movies.

Well we are in the middle of getting a White Christmas!!
Happy Holiday to Everyone!
Merry Christmas!
Really having a white one in Minnesota today. Looks like about a foot of snow overnight with no shortage of wind.
Santa must have gone in the ditch on the way here. I didn't get my drybag yet..............;)
White one here too for a change.
Aiming to go for a Boxing Day paddle tomorrow.
I wouldn't mind a paddle on my day off next week. Sort of depends on the weather I suppose. I might need to find a thermos or take the billy to make something warm to drink. I would like to get some photos.
Do people ever make their own boats for boxing day? I read a story about people making canoes out of milk cartons or cardboard boxes and then racing them.

Er... that's news to me, Dennis.
Never quite figured out why it's called Boxing Day, maybe that's why?
Well you could be the first!
No one seems to know exactly what boxing day is for some reason. I guess it depends on where you are.

Boxing day has interesting origins. It dates back to early times when cavepeoples of northern europe would celebrate Christmas. Their Christmas loot was invariably wrapped in the discarded hides of the great Smilodon ,a practice that led to the saber-toothed cat's extinction. The hides would stink if left indoors too long so they would be boxed up and hauled outside. Eventually due to this practice of "boxing" smilodon hides the day after Christas, the day was called "Boxing day".
Always glad to share my knowledge.
I'm having a pretty hard time imagining cavemen with boxes or even a word box but the meaning of most words changes over time and our idea of a box is probably different than the original concept.
The holiday seems to be celebrated on December 26th in most places. I read something about Victorian landlords eating box lunches and giving the hired-help boxes of leftovers to take home for a day off of work.
Here is a photo from a milk carton boat derby. Photographer unknown, no photo credit was given on the site where I found it.
