Shenandoah River is the largest and most experienced canoe, kayak and tube outfitter in the Mid-Atlantic region. This place is good for trout and bass fishing. It’s closed to the Shenandoah Valley, Luray Caverns, ‘Big Meadows’ and ‘Skyland’ in the Shenandoah National Park. Therefore you can also go there for camping, hiking and enjoying with family.

I always spent my time in Virginia hiking instead of canoeing. I’m looking forward to seeing a trip report from this area. Thanks Bert.

I’ve always loved the name Shenandoah .. in fact, U.S. rivers in general have more picturesque names, perhaps because native names were used much more often than in Canada in which English names generally replaced the native names.

You’ve never been to New Jersey have you? Lets see, there’s the Black River, Delaware River, Elizabeth River, Forked River, Hackensack River, Manasquan River Millstone River, Mustconetcong River, Navasink River, Passaic River, Rahway River, Raritan River, Rockaway River, Saddle River, Shark River, umm – The South River, Toms River, Wall Kill River. There are afew with cool names but most are pretty straight forward.
