Yes, Pelican seems to be the gold standard and the only thing you could find around here for the longest time. I did see one video of a Pelican being thrown from a rooftop and in that one the lid flew right off very dramatically. Those are hardly scientific tests and in fact could be rigged except that in this one the shocked look on the guy's face was rather priceless.
I was also trying to figure out what size to get. Since I travel a bit I had thought about one of the carry-on sized rolling bags but they are heavy even empty and while they would fit in a canoe, they don't seem all that practical for that.
The Pelican that James has is just big enough for a DSLR body with lens and maybe one extra lens. He currently has an Nikon 18-200 VR lens on the camera which is a pretty good all around lens which is often recommended for travel and vacation shooters. Used correctly it will produce some very fine photographs and you will not have to be changing lenses back and forth all day. I would probably try to squeeze the 12-24 wide angle in there as well and maybe, just maybe a 50mm f/1.8 for low light stuff.
Rather than one big case it may be better to have a quick access case for the camera body and primary lens and then a second case for accessories like the flash units and chargers.
Note: I've had no success at inserting photos into these forum posts either. Hyperlinks are fine.
